1939 FIRST TOUR


1939 – In spring of the same year, he signed my first professional contract with a troupe formed by my teacher, the stage director Mihalis Kounelakis. The tour started May 18, the program includ-ed stops at Aegion, Patras, Pyrgos, Amaliada, Kalamata.

The troupe comprised Anna Emmanuel, Titos Vitsoris, Yorgos Vlahopoulos, Nana Papado-poulou, Thanassis Gavalas, Yorgos Nezos, Soula Dimitriou, Mary Veaki, Mina Simirioti and Mihalis Mastoras and myself. Prompter Th. Katakalos, sceneshifter C. Samiotakis, pro-perty man C. Tsohatzis, escort Pomonis.

Acted in the following plays: “The Squall”, “The Ogress”, “The Betrothal”, “Titanic Waltz”, “Welcome”, “The Hencoop”, “The Little Coffee Shop”, “A Night, a Life” and “The Students”. The tour ended August 20 same year and the troupe returned to Athens. >br>
WITH THE THYMELIC TROUPE OF CLASSICAL TRAGEDY

1939 –
In September that year, Adamantios Lemos joined Linos Karzis’ “Thymelic Troupe of Classical Tragedy”, interpreted Hermes and Xuthus in Euripides’ “Ion”, in the Panathenian Stadium.

WITH THE “MARIKA KOTOPOULI TROUPE”
– FIRST MEETING WITH KAROLOS KOON

1939 – In October that year, he joined the great semi-state troupe of Marika Kotopouli (Rex Thea-ter), where Karolos Koon first worked as a professional director, after his extraordinary success with Chekhov’s “Cherry Orchard”, which established him and marked a historical milestone in the chronicles of modern Greek theater.
